🔧 TECHNICAL GUIDE TO INSTALLING THE VRV A OUTDOOR UNIT – MODEL RXQ16BYM
1. 🧰 Preparation before installing RXQ16BYM
a. Required tools and equipment:
-
Drill, welding machine, bolt-fastening tools
-
Pressure gauge, thermometer, clamp meter
-
Vacuum gauge (vacuum gauge)
-
Dedicated vacuum pump
-
R410a refrigerant for checking and topping up if necessary
b. Check the installation site:
-
The base must be level and solid, not sloped, with a load-bearing capacity greater than 300kg
-
A well-ventilated location, protected from direct sunlight and heavy wind-driven rain
-
Minimum service clearances:
-
Front: ≥ 1,000mm
-
Rear: ≥ 300mm
-
Both sides: ≥ 300mm
-
Above: ≥ 1,000mm
-
2. 📐 Mechanical installation of RXQ16BYM
a. Outdoor unit dimensions:
1,660 x 1,240 x 765 mm, weight 270kg
b. Positioning and securing the base:
-
Use M10 or M12 bolts to secure the unit feet to the concrete plinth
-
The plinth must have a minimum height of 150mm above ground level to prevent flooding
c. Ensure vibration reduction:
-
Use anti-vibration rubber mounts or vibration isolation pads under the unit feet
3. 🔌 RXQ16BYM electrical installation
a. Power supply:
-
3-phase power 380V - 50Hz, supplied separately to each outdoor unit
-
Electrical cables must meet standards for heat resistance and current-carrying capacity above 20A
b. Wiring:
-
Connect in the correct phase sequence L1-L2-L3 and earth according to the wiring diagram supplied with the unit
-
Check the fan rotation direction after powering on for the first time (if it rotates in reverse, swap 2 phase wires)
c. Safety precautions:
-
Always disconnect the power before carrying out any work
-
Install a CB and surge protection in accordance with industrial electrical regulations
4. 🔗 RXQ16BYM refrigerant piping installation
a. Refrigerant piping:
-
Use copper pipes of the standard wall thickness for R410a, fully insulated
-
Ensure the piping has no kinks, dents or leaks
-
Maximum piping distance according to the manufacturer's recommendations (for example: 165m in length, 50m in elevation difference)
b. Vacuum evacuation:
-
Evacuate the entire system for at least 30 minutes until the pressure reaches below -756mmHg
-
Check for tightness using a pressure gauge and test for leaks using soapy water
c. Additional refrigerant charging (if required):
-
Calculate the refrigerant charge required based on the actual pipe length (for example: add x g of refrigerant/1m of piping beyond the standard length)
d. Condensate piping:
-
Ensure a slope ≥ 1%
-
Install an additional water trap and strainer to prevent blockages
5. ⚙️ RXQ16BYM startup and test operation
-
Perform a final check of all electrical, refrigerant and drainage connections
-
Switch on the power, start the system via the central controller
-
Monitor:
-
Refrigerant suction and discharge pressures
-
Outdoor unit temperature, noise, vibration
-
Compressor load current
-
-
Record operating parameters to compare with the manufacturer's standard parameters
6. 🛠 Post-installation maintenance for RXQ16BYM
-
Clean the filters regularly every 3 months
-
Check refrigerant and operating pressure every 6 months
-
Service the entire system at least 1 time/year
